Rejected by Threadless!

Yes, it still happens.  Not everything I do gets approved by threadless.  I kind of like these 2 in a fake public service announcement/spoof kind of way but threadless didn't agree.  Oh well, I'd like to tweak these 2 for iphone/ipad skins.  I have many more ideas & much more work to do, later -Lance

First post of 2012!- "Death of Tin Man"

Hello all, it's been a little while- busy working on multiple projects over the past 2 months- then taking the time to put the work online.  That can be a whole other project unto itself.  As for this one here's my description from threadless:

"Death of Tin Man" on black or white for the "Threadless Loves Death" contest. 3 or 4 colors screen printed (depending on which color tee) When I saw this contest listed I instantly thought of Jean Louis David's painting "Death of Marat". After spending some years in upstate NY, where Frank Baum's "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" is still celebrated- I decided to do a mash up of both ideas. This is what I came up with.

Still working on other pieces that I will post much sooner than I have of late.
Regards -Lance

My first submit to atrium

This is my first submit to atrium (part of threadless) It's for their Men for Women Now campaign to fight breast cancer.  I was just surfing thru threadless- like I do on a daily basis- saw this design challenge and I simply couldn't resist.  It just popped into my head.  I'm calling it "Men Love (.)(.) 2 Much"  Hope they like it over there at atrium.  I will keep you updated, -Lance

BRO Tee Shirt

My latest submit to threadless called "BRO".  Don't fear it, don't hide it- show your "BRO"!  That's what I'm hoping if this shirt ever got printed.  I have to laugh.  Just saying it reminds me of Neil Patrick Harris or Jersey Shore lingo.  It's one of my favorite words.
Have much more work to do and hope to have something published here in October.  I'm working on over a dozen drawings for my next tee shirt so it will take a little time to get finished.  Until then, later -Lance

My latest tees to Threadless

Here are my latest two submits to threadless.  The top one is called "Double Bagger".  No, this idea did not come to me after watching an episode of "Jersey Shore".  Really.  One day in my office I was surrounded by shopping bags, some were piled up, some were stacked like in the picture, and I just thought- that's a "Double Bagger"!  The second one was for a threadless contest (they do a lot of those) called "3 Words or Less".  I came up with this idea months before but thought it was too good to pass up for the contest.  More tees on the way.

Texas Toast for Threadless

My latest submit to threadless.com.  Called "Texas Toast", I'm very pleased with this piece for a few reasons.  It's my highest scored piece, has gotten the most comments (and votes) and has lasted the longest on the site (4 days & counting) so I'm happy about all that.  And to top it off, some people who I really respect (in the threadless community) have commented on it- the best thing so far in my opinion.  I'm already working on a few other ideas.  Back to the sketchbook & computer!  Regards, -Lance

Pearl Jam Poster

There's a story that goes with this piece.  First off, I'm a HUGE Pearl Jam fan.  One of my all-time favorite groups.  I have over 300 of their songs on my ipod.  Yes, 300.  I have dozens of live & bootleg stuff over the years.  Plus I'll buy any single or cover they do.  Songs like "Last Kiss", "Solider of Love" and "Fortunate Son".  And I love classic rock like the Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, etc. etc.  I also surf the web looking for various art sites, font sites, design & trend sites.  A few weeks ago I came across the Ames Bros.  A design group from Seattle that did Pearl Jam concert posters among many, many other things.  I then googled "Pearl Jam posters"- and I was amazed.  Wow. There were tons of them from artists the world over dating back to 1998.  I thought: "I have to get in on this!"  So this is my first sketch of one of my favorite Pearl Jam covers.  I hope to have many more concert posters in the coming year(s).
